FAQ > Farmers Market > Will the products and pricing we see at the Farmer's Market be what we see when the store opens?
Yes and no. A grocery store and a farmers market are different in many ways. One of those ways is that; a grocery store buys wholesale from a distributer or vendor at a "wholesale cost" and than marks up the product to create a "retail price". A farmers market has vendors that sell directly to the public. Pricing is what the individual vendors decides is right for them. If they price their product too high, it doesn't sell. If they price it too low, it sells to fast. It really is their decision and basic supply-demand theories apply.
Creekside Co-Op may indeed carry some of the products at the farmers market, but will be diligent to represent the membership with the correct pricing based on input from members and supply demand principles.
