Garden of Dreams Update
We are preparing for the next step in planning our fall fundraiser that we are calling the Garden of Dreams. We will soon be sending out a formal letter requesting donations of goods and services that will be auctioned off for the benefit of the CreekSide Co-op. Many exciting items have been donated already and we are still looking for a few "Big Dream" donations...such as being a guest performer with the Philly pops or running the bases at a Phillies game or shadowing a sports announcer at an Eagles game or a walk on during a filming of the next movie in Philadelphia.
Could you or anyone you know be the source of one of these dream donations? If so, please contact Ryan Youngman at the Co-op office by email or phone as given below.
We also need volunteers ─ brave people willing to ask for donations ─ creative people who can dream up dream ideas for the auction ─ a well-organized person to be responsible for developing the program brochure.
Do you know a printer in the community who is willing to donate some printing services? Do you happen to be a designer who has developed fundraising materials before? Or do you know a successful media salesperson who knows how to bring in advertisers for a good cause? If so, we want and need YOU. Please contact General Manager Ryan Youngman at Ryanyoungman@creekside.coop if you know you are the one of the key people who can help make our event a success.
And Speaking of Raising Funds...
As a part of our expected financing package with the USDA, we are required to obtain $150,000 in member loans. We are preparing a prospectus to spell out all the details on the investment opportunities with the CreekSide Member Loan Initiative. Please stay tuned for more information...soon.
Keeping the Vision Fresh and Local
As we enter the final stretch on the road toward receiving approval for USDA funding, it is important to keep our mission in mind. CreekSide Co-op is a cooperative member-owned food market in Cheltenham Township, providing products and services that are responsive to the values of its ownership and fostering connections among the people of its diverse community.
As a local food retailer, CreekSide Co-op will provide several advantages over conventional, mass-distribution markets. Buying locally will support our local economy, sustain family farms, supply fresh food for our members and help enhance our sense of community.
